Last year the Le Vieux Pin winery at Oliver, which has released good but aggressively priced wines for several years, introduced a second label for more affordable wines. The quality is exceptional, especially for a second label, as shown by this delicious dry aromatic white. The wine is a fine addition to rising number of tasty white blends from Okanagan wineries (such as JoieFarm’s Noble Blend).

Winemaker James Cambridge’s decision to build this wine around Viognier was inspired winemaking. Unlike most other white varietals, Viognier brings a little natural tannin to the blend, giving the wine weight and structure and a touch of pineapple flavour. The other varietals add layers of fruity aromas and flavours (melon, grapefruit). The wine has a refreshing, crisp finish that lingers on the palate. It is impossible not to have a second and third glass of this wine, especially when you are working out the obscure Greek on the label.
